Purpose: 

To educate our Youth about the past and present of Israel. To instill a love and appreciation for our homeland

 

Current and Recent Accomplishments:

1. Creation of the weekly “Green Sheet.”  This is intended to give parents a medium with which to speak to their children about Israel.  Nearly 1000 copies are being circulated throughout Queens in stores, and in other synagogues.

2. Polled several yeshivot to find out what current curriculum is for Israel education for the Youth.


Current Activities:

1. Develop a comprehensive youth group curriculum to be used on Shabbos in conjunction with the shul’s youth committee with materials from the BJE.

2. Continuous weekly distribution of the Green Sheet with the goal of even wider circulation.

3. Youth Barbeque Program with Film Showing of Kadumah, an Israeli Consulate Film on Israel’s military history.  Hoping to bring an IDF soldier to speak in person.

4. Planning multiple speakers for Shabbosim during the summer including military, diplomatic, media, and economic experts from Israel. 

5. Working with sleep-away camps to set up programs with significant Israel content; possibilities include tour guides giving virtual tours, soldiers speaking about the truth in Jenin and Ramallah.

6. Exploring the possibility of a joint program with adult education designed to educate the public about Israel’s true multi-ethnicity and diversity, inviting Ethiopian IDF soldiers and other multi-ethnic IDF speakers.
