Purpose: 

1.
To get the causes of Israel’s right to survival and combating anti-Semitism noticed, understood, and adopted by those who can effect change.

2.
To build closer relationships with local and national officials to help ensure that our voices are heard on Capitol Hill when Congress introduces bills on Terrorism and other topics of concern to us.

3. To strengthen our ties with our neighbors (such as the Black Caucus) and politicians who may impact future policy.


4To help the community become more politically savvy and involved in the political process.

 

Current and Recent Accomplishments:

1
. Various committee members have had conversations and are establishing relationships with political resource organizations such including AIPAC, IPA, ADL, and AJC.

 

2. Obtained and distributed a list of all the US Senators’ email addresses

3. Composed and posted letters to Congressional representatives regarding the US Solidarity Bill on the ACT NOW button of the YIJE website to be printed and sent by members of our shul and all other visitors to our site.  These letters were also distributed on motzei Shabbos in the shul


Current Activities:

1.
Follow up with small meetings with Nita Lowey and Gary Ackerman and the staff of Senators Clinton and Schumer. 


2
. Exploring efficacy of programs on Israel and political action with Queens members of the Black and Hispanic caucuses and with representatives of AIPAC.


3. Youth Barbeque Program with Film Showing of Kadumah, an Israeli Consulate Film on Israel’s military history.  Hoping to bring an IDF soldier to speak in person.

4.
Continue writing letters writing to elected representatives regarding critical legislation.  Post them on the ACT NOW section of our website so that many people can print, sign and send them. 

 
5. Collect information on voting records of members of the Black and Hispanic caucuses in the outer Boroughs.
